What’s truly essential is unseen.
When you unwrap what’s essential inside, you enjoy more wisdom and freedom in your everyday life and call back your power, allowing:
- Wisdom to know your true nature,
- Freedom to create a life that reflects your true nature,
- Power to make changes inside that ripple out.
In the popular documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” Mr. Rogers says, “What is essential is invisible to the eye.” The closer we get to knowing and living that truth, the closer we get to wisdom.
In my experience, wisdom is the physical embodiment of truth. It can physically inhabit your body and become your compass.
Mr. Rogers adds, “The outside things of life are not the really important things. It’s our insides that make us who we are, that allow us to dream and wonder and feel for others. That’s what’s essential. We always have a chance to bring what’s unique about us to live in a redeeming way.”
For me, truth is color.
This is what’s essential. Growing up around the carnival, colors, sounds and smells were ablaze. That was my world. It became a gateway to discovering my unique gifts.
When I left the world of my childhood, the sudden absence of riotous color made me realize what a foundational building block color truly is. As a result, I incorporated as much color as possible in my life.
In time, I realized this was feeding my light body and nourishing my energy field, improving my state of mind and supporting my healing practice.
As a practitioner, I now use color to unwrap what’s invisible inside.
For example, take Red. Unconsciously it represents blood, fire, pain, war, danger, stop, flashing lights, molten lava and birth. These realities bring up fear in humanity.
This is a problem: we are trying to connect to feel at home and safe. But we connect to the Earth through our first chakra, which is red. So our fear disconnects us from Mother Earth, our home.
Once I realized this disconnection and was able to uncover red’s meaning for me, I felt at home on the earth and safe in my body. Suddenly the red blood coursing through my veins and my heart was a gift. Red was now an experience I could embrace.
I invite you to try it. Let me know what you think.
Take a moment. Put your hands on your heart and feel the pulse of red.
Now that we’ve disconnected from fear, there is room for love, another red emotion. Bring up self-love or love for a person or pet. Amplify your connection to red with every beat of your heart. Send that feeling through your blood to nourish every cell of your body.
I invite you to join me in unwrapping colors in ways that bring more aliveness and personal freedom to you from the inside out.
